Colour Creations - Week 40 - Pool Party

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person. This is week 40 of our blog hop and the featured colour is Pool Party.

We are experiencing true summer in Melbourne at the moment - and although it is almost too hot & dry to breathe, my thoughts turned to Pool Party and summer-type stamps.

I pulled Beach Days, a new bundle of stamps and dies in the current mini Catalogue (page 58) and an Annual Catalogue stamp, Beside Me, which is also being offered as a free pick if you order $90 before 29 February. That actually means you could order Beach Days bundle at $85.50, pop a pack of Dimensionals on your order because we always need those, and you have 2 sets covering birthdays, Fathers Day and more.

We played with masking at my Craft & Chat classes in February when I suggested the die cut masked circle could be used to leave a space for the sentiment, so I ran with that idea.

The blending is mainly Pool Party, with a little Coastal Cabana toward the bottom and then I used blends to colour the image.

On the inside, all the stamps are from Beach Days - love the cheeky seagull!

Let's head over to Theresa Gerrard to see her lovely Pool Party project.

If at any time you find a broken link or would like to see a full list of participants, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Catherine Proctor.

Happy crafting,

  3. We certainly got a reprieve from that weather today! Wasn't the cool weather welcome? I love the calming look provided by the Pool Party background on your card, Rachel. My favourite feature of your card is the seagull perched on the sentiment, inside and out. Clever use of the masked circle for the sentiment on the front, too!

  5. Brilliant summer days card, Rachel. I can almost hear the breeze and that cheeky seagull waiting for the trio to reel in a fish or two. Love the colours and layering too!
