Love & Sympathy - CTC84

This week at CASE-ing The Catty we are looking at the 'Love & Affection' pages 44-55 of the new Annual Stampin' Up!® catalogue. There are some lovely samples on these pages which does make it hard to choose...... what to CASE? Hmmmm......

Stampin' Up!® catalogue page 47

Recently I ordered Bloomin' Love and the Bloomin' Heart Thinlet, after resisting for so long!!! I've been working on an order of Wedding cards for a few weeks and I decided the design on page 47 was perfect. The colour-scheme was changed up to Dapper Denim and Mint Macaroon for the base card. Love the way these two go together. The heart and several loose flowers were diecut from thick Whisper White and stamped. Some strays were stamped on the background when everything was in position.

Wedding stamps are always something I hang onto when they retire, because I do special orders for custom-made cards. It was pleasing to find a small sentiment which fitted in the available leftover space. For The Two Of You is a sentiment from Your Perfect Day.With rhinestones in the centre of the flowers and some lovely mint striped ribbon, I was working from memory and thought the ribbon was under the heart, but at least it gave it an original touch. I still felt it wasn't quite enough. Out came Wink of Stella, for some glittery magic! Just a shame we can't capture it easily in a photo.

When it came to the inside, I've layered Dapper Denim behind the Whisper White, and added two hearts and a plus sign in Mint Macaroon, the sentiment is On Your Perfect Day.

I love it when it comes together the way I'd imagined, makes my heart happy and it was one of the cards chosen by my customer too!

I'm having a team gathering this coming Thursday afternoon, so if you're local and quick off the mark, maybe you can join us.

It has been so cold lately here in Melbourne, so I decided to count how long it is until we head away to Hawaii for a few days in Honolulu before a cruise around the Islands. Only 59 days to go, If you have some hints of things to see, please share them with me.

Cheers, Rachel

You're going to head over to my good friend Kathryn in South Australia to see her gorgeous project

We also host a monthly challenge. If you have been inspired by our projects and want to share your own, please add to the linky tool on this post.  A winner will be chosen and announced on the first post of the following month.
